I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Africa

We're happy to tell you that Africa has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Cats Page to see the cats currently available.

Hello!  My name is Africa, and you wonder, that's an odd name for a pretty kitty like me.  Well, let me tell you some back story of how I got my name, and you'll understand.

My foster Mom went to a kill shelter at the end of 2023 and saw 7 kittens that needed rescue.  7 kittens from 3 different litters.  My sister and I were part of that group, so we became the Seven Continents.  I'm given the name Africa, and my sister is Antartica.  She & I look a lot alike but she's smaller than me.

I guess you would call me a shy girl.  I like being around other cats and I play with them all the time but when I see a Human, I get scared.  If you come to me very slowly, I'll let you pick me up and you can hold me but briefly.  I think my time before going to the shelter was very limited with being around people.  That's why the shelter asked for TAR to take me & my Sissie because they knew a foster home has more time and more ability for me to get used to Humans.

I see some of the foster kitties who live here come get visitors/adopters and they talk about their forever home.  I can help but wonder if I will have a forever home for a shy girl like me.  I might not look special.  I’m what you call a Creamsicle kitten.  My colors are orange/buff/white.

If I could wish for one thing that is for my forever family to give me time to warm up.  There’s no crystal ball that will give a time frame.  It can be a short time or long, who knows.  I do know I want to have a family that I can love and purr in their ears.  I want to feel love and show them I can be very playful.

I’m just a shy girl that likes simple things like a cat treat, a soft touch and voice.  A kind heart that will let me make my moves when I feel brave.  I see all the foster kittens in my foster home getting adopted around me and I wish I could come out of hiding and shout “hey, look at me!”  But I can’t I’m too shy.

I wish I could rub my tiny body around people's legs who come to my foster home, but I’m not brave yet.  Maybe when I get my forever home there will be another kitty that has more confidence, and they can show me all the great things kitties can have.  A home.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.  I hope we get to meet one day.

Kisses,

Africa
