Hi there! My name is Cali, short for California. I am about 1-1 1/2 years old and if we had to guess at my breeding, I'm a Collie mixed with Shepherd. But my rescuers think I should be called a breed called Gorgeous. Because I'm one pretty girl.
My Owners brought me to a shelter because I was about to have babies. They didn't spay me, and I had a doggie visitor one night. Some dude that passed through my yard. I'm so glad Treasured Animal Rescue saved me, and I didn't have my 6 gorgeous babies in a shelter. I had them in a warm, loving foster home.
My babies are ready for their forever home and so am I. While we wait for our families to come meet us, I get to play with the other dogs. I made so many new friends. I like to play with dogs my size. The little dogs that are here I'm very gentle with them, but we play with our toys together. I'm good at sharing. There are also kitties that live here, and I ignore them.
I'm a quiet girl but when I get excited, I will bark. My bark is loud. I might also jump on you because I'm so happy to see new people. I think they are all my new friends. I've been around kids but maybe a caution with small kids because I jump but training will teach me "off". My foster Mom has taught me SIT, OFF, COME and I walk pretty good on a leash. I know to go in my kennel for my meal times and when I get my beauty sleep. All you need to say is "Cali, go kennel".
I like when I get brushed and I have to warn you I do shed. Hello?? What Collie/Shepherd doesn't shed? Some of my shedding might be because of me just having babies - you know those silly Mommy hormones. But my days of being a Mama are all over and my foster Mom says it's Cali time. Time for me to find my family. Time for me to be taken care by someone else and no more babies.
I can't to meet my forever family. Maybe you will have older kids that will toss a ball for me, and we can for walks. Getting in the car for a car ride makes me hesitant. Maybe that's because when I got THAT ride it was to a kill shelter. So, I have to put that memory out of my pretty head and think of my future. A future of love, playtime, long walks and cuddling up with you on the couch.
