Hi there, my name is Cosmo and I'm a cute, adorable Yorkie. Nobody is sure on my age. I was found as a stray, and I was on my own for quite a while. Because of that, when my rescuers helped me, I needed a lot of help. My doggie vet is guessing my age based on my (remaining) teeth and eyes to be around 10 years old.
I'm so glad my Rescuers took me to a doggie vet. I had 10 teeth that were abscessed, infected. They took them away so I had no more pain or infection. Can you imagine having that daily pain? It didn't stop me from eating because I LOVE food. My foster Mom is so nice to me. She knows when little doggies like me have teeth issues and she found the right doggie food (canned food) that I can eat. She'll tell you all about it when you ask about me.
It might not look like it but I've been dog a doggie Groomer too. I was very good when the nice lady cleaned me up. I didn't like my nails being cut but what dog does? They were REALLY long. I know some women like long nails but on a dog? Nope - it hurts.
I was also missing some hair so my doggie doctor said let's take some blood tests. I didn't have to study for those tests but it showed my thryoid is funky so I get daily medicine for that (it's very affordable) and the pill goes right on top of my wet food and I gobble it up!
I'm a quiet boy that likes to lounge in my doggie bed or by you. You can pick me up but you have to go slow; no fast movement. I haven't been around kids so maybe I can be ok if kids come visit. I have been around all size dogs and cats. They don't bother me. Even the big puppies that are here in my foster home try to get me to play but I'm past that stage.
I like to go outside and sit in the sun. I can't imagine the days when I was a stray and that's all I did was walk around outside. Looking for food. Looking for shelter and the hardest; looking for love. Why was I a stray? Did my Owner not love me anymore? Did my health care get too much for him/her?
When I'm inside I go potty on a pee pad. I know that's not ideal. I do go outside but my foster Mom has to pick me up and take me outside.
I might not be that young chick-a-dee Yorkie that most people are looking for. I hope my new Mom or Dad will look into my eyes and feel my soul. I am an old soul that is looking for a home that I can rest my mature body. I don't require much. Doggie bed, good food and a loving touch.
