Requirements:

  • Be at least 25 years of age

  • Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household

  • Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease, no verbal approval)

  • Be approved as a suitable foster home by Treasured Animal Rescue Board Members

  • Be willing to foster the Treasured Animal Rescue dog until he/she is adopted

  • Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease, no verbal approval)

  • Provide structure, proper care (i.e. food, water, shelter) and basic needs while in their foster care

  • Take to approved Treasured Animal Rescue vets

Apply to Foster

Getting Started:

  • Apply to become a foster Mom/Dad

  • Once your foster application has been received, reviewed our Foster Coordinator will contact you to review our foster program

  • Vet references will be conducted. If you current animals are not updated on their vaccinations and/or neutered/spayed we thank you in advanced for applying to become our foster home sponsor but you will not be accepted in our Rescue

  • Homecheck will be conducted along with meeting dogs/cats on home premises

  • Provide new foster Mom/Dad Treasured Animal Rescue foster contract to be signed before 1st foster pet is placed in their home

Treasured Animal Rescue’s Responsibility:

  • Provide each foster home foster permits per State of Illinois guidelines – kept on file with Treasured Animal Rescue Treasurer

  • Provide each foster home list of Board Members phone contacts for case of emergency of foster animal

  • Provide a list of approved veterinary clinics

  • When supplies are available, each foster home will be provided (for foster dogs)

    • Dog crate – size applicable
    • Dog food
    • Bowls/collars/leashes
      • All Treasured Animal Rescue’s dogs MUST wear TAR ID’s tags which will be provided

VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

Be at least 18 years of age

  • Under 18, must have a legal Guardian/Adult present at events


ADOPTION PROCESS

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household
  • Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease, no verbal approval)
  • Fill out a Treasured Animal Rescue adoption application for a dog or cat and be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Treasured Animal Rescue Board Members and/or foster home
  • Adoption payment cash and check only
